The Highlands of Scotland offer fantastic opportunities to observe the night sky. Rural Wester Ross is virtually unaffected by light pollution, with the night sky clearly visible (cloud cover permitting) even from the street lit villages.

You need only step outside Sgurr Alasdair -  your Highland holiday cottage - and on a clear night will be able to observe a vast swathe of the star bejewelled Northern sky.
